Injuries to muscles, tendons or joint ligaments are called soft tissue injuries. Injury occurs when the tendons, which are the tissues that connect the muscles to the bone, occur excessively and damage the muscles or tendons. Strains that occur in the joint ligaments and the fibrous tissue bands that hold the bones together are called sprains. Soft tissue injuries, which can happen to anyone, usually occur with excessive use of the joints and compulsive movements. Soft tissue injuries are more likely to occur in people or athletes who consistently perform the same work and the same movements. It can also develop as a result of sudden movements such as running or jumping. Another cause of soft tissue injuries is traumas in these tissues.
